Cancellation Policy

Rivington Music (also referred to on this page as RMRS) operates on a 48 hour notice for all cancellations or reschedules. RMRS does not issue monetary refunds (see bellow for booking errors or mistakes).

Requests for cancellation or booking changes with more than 48 hours notice will be issued a house credit for the same value, so the client can rebook their rehearsal at their convenience. *Credits expire 180 days from date of issue.*

For cancellation made with less than 48 hours notice no credit will be issued, and there will be no possibility of reschedule, including rehearsals booked on the same day.

Credits are redeemed on our BOOK A STUDIO page. No credit will be issued for a session booked using a credit.

Please note: Rivington Music Rehearsal Studios is not responsible for weather conditions, transit issues, personal emergencies including illness, etc.

Booking Errors or Mistakes

Clients are asked to check email confirmations/receipts,  sent via email by Rivington Music, immediately for any discrepancies in their bookings. Please email us immediately to rectify any problem. RMRS will leave a 1 hour window open for changes or refunds, after which our standard cancellation policy applies.

Weather Related Cancellations

RMRS will not close due to weather unless mandated by the City of New York. The exception to this is if the MTA Subway service is cancelled due to severe weather. Please refer to the MTA INFO PAGE for extra details.

RMRS “In the Studio” Rules & Code of Conduct

  1. Please be respectful of the studio and the equipment. No drinks on equipment, no hot food in the studios, trash in the trash can.
    Please leave the studio in a good condition for the next guests. The previous guests will do it for you. Leaving the studio a mess might incur a $10 clean up fee. 
  2. Respect the time that you booked. Your rehearsal time includes set up and break down. The flashing light is the house reminding you that your session is ending. Please be courteous and be ready to leave the studio on time.
  3. Please return all extra gear, whether rented or borrowed.  Microphones, cables, instruments and keyboard stands go back to the office. Music stands and microphone stands return to halfway.
  4. Please report any issues ASAP. If any gear breaks or stops working during your session, let the staff know. We will switch out the equipment immediately. Help us keep everything in top order!
  5. Guests are not allowed to enter any studio except the one they booked. Please enquire at the office if you need anything, including extra equipment.
  6. No smoking in the entire building. This includes Marijuana and Vapes/E-cigarettes. Any guest visibly intoxicated or using any kind of illegal substances will be asked to leave.
  7. RMRS is a safe space for everyone. We have a zero tolerance policy on harassment, verbal abuse or violence.
  8. RMRS staff have the ultimate decision on all issues, including terminating rehearsals. Please respect the staff and respect their decisions. Failure to do so can result in ejection from the building.

Lost & Found

RMRS is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

Any items found in the studios will be kept in the office up to 4 weeks from the date found. If you lost any item and you think it might have happened at RMRS, please reach out with a detailed description of the item, as well as the date, time and studio number you were rehearsing in.

After 4 weeks any item not claimed will be sold.

Soundproofing & Sound Bleed

Our studios are sound suppressed but not soundproof. During our peak hours of operation (6 to 10PM on weekdays, and 12 to 6PM on weekends) there is the possibility of some sound bleed between studios.

Hardware & Instrument Rental

The LES Music Shed, which operates alongside Rivington Music,  has guitars (electric and acoustic), bass guitars, and keyboards to rent, as well as as additional drum hardware/cymbals.

The LES Music Shed has additional hardware such as cables, stands, power supplies, etc for rent.

For sale are other select items such as snacks, ear plugs, drum sticks, guitar string, etc.

At this time neither The LES Music Shed or RMRS loan any instruments or hardware.

The LES Music Shed accepts all credit cards, as well as electronic wallet payments such as Apple or Google Pay. All electronic transactions are subject to tax and a $1.00 processing fee. Cash is always preferred.

Booking Fee

Rivington Music charges a $2 service/credit card transaction fee for all online and card paid bookings.
